Shelby Taylor-Schroeder

Shelby Taylor-Schroeder is an elementary school-based speech-language pathologist (SLP) in Louisville, KY. She holds a Bachelor in Communication Disorders from Murray State University and a Master in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a Graduate Certificate in Telehealth from the University of Kentucky. Shelby is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Telehealth Committee and is especially interested in school-age language, neuroscience, and diverse, equitable, and inclusive communication.

Shelby has completed extensive research pertaining to the relationship between the music world and the speech-language world, including the impact of music on second-language acquisition and speech fluency. When she is not teaching first graders the ever-menacing “r” sound, Shelby serves as a contributing writer for the renowned travel blogs, "Practical Wanderlust and let’s Go Louisville.
