Community Ensembles

Community Choir

Choristers of all ages and levels are encouraged to sing in the Poco a Poco Community Choir, joining Young Artists and Faculty in group song. The group will be led by Streator native Dr. Shelbie Wahl-Fouts, now of Hollins University in Roanoke, VA.

Rehearsed selections will be presented at the annual Community Concert, the final event of the festival. Vocal tracks are available, participation is free, and we’ll have music ready for you at the first rehearsal. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns.

Community Instrumental Ensemble

NEW IN 2024, the Community Instrumental Ensemble is open to musicians junior-high and up who play any band/orchestral instruments. We welcome players of all ability levels. Our ensemble is led by trumpeter and Streator native Dr. Shelbie Wahl-Fouts.

String Jam Session

Join us for an evening of harmonious melodies and stringed symphonies at Park Church in Streator, IL on Friday, June 14 at 7:00 PM! Calling all guitarists, violinists, cellists, mandolin players, and enthusiasts of all skill levels for a jam session that promises to strike a chord of joy.

Whether you’re a seasoned maestro or just picking up your instrument, this gathering welcomes all to share in the magic of music-making. Guided by our resident guitar teacher, Ascher Taylor Schroeder, we celebrate the ability to be together again and making music together.

While there is no performance, we encourage listeners to come and watch, also. It will be a low-pressure evening that promises fun and inspiration.
