Nathaniel Harcar

Nathaniel Harcar, a 20-year-old composer, double bassist, and pianist from Streator, IL, is making strides in the music industry. After graduating from Streator High School, he continued his musical journey at IVCC before pursuing a Music Composition major at UIUC. Nathaniel has showcased his talent as principal bassist in various orchestras, including the Illinois Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Chicago Youth Philharmonic Orchestra. Under the mentorship of Prof. Trevor Jones and Anne Badger, he honed his skills on the double bass and piano. Currently studying composition under Dr. Mario Pelusi, Nathaniel leads the jazz combo group II-V-I and directs the Streator Community Jazz Band. He is actively involved in various musical endeavors, including serving as a cantor and choir member at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. Eager for his future at UIUC, Nathaniel is committed to pursuing a successful career in music.
