Mary Bond
Mary Bond is a dedicated music educator and conductor based in Nashville, TN. She is thrilled to return to Poco a Poco for its 9th Annual Summer Festival—a program she’s proud to call her musical home each summer.
Mary currently serves as a public school teacher and the Curriculum Director for the Nashville Children’s Choir. Her experience spans a wide range of children’s and community choral organizations, including the Cincinnati Boychoir, Cincinnati Youth Choir, Madisonville Youth Chorus, and the Philadelphia Boys and Girls Choir. During her graduate studies, she was selected as the Conducting Apprentice for the Mendelssohn Chorus of Philadelphia, the nation’s longest-standing choral ensemble.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Xavier University and spent four years directing high school choir and theatre programs. In May, Mary completed her Master of Music in Choral Conducting at Temple University, where she worked extensively with curricular choirs, mentored undergraduate conducting students, and served as Chorus Master for the 2023 production of Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel.
Mary brings to Poco a Poco a wealth of experience, a passion for youth music education, and a deep love for choral artistry.
