Alan Johnson

Andrew Johnson is a passionate musician and educator dedicated to inspiring the next generation of performers, scholars, and church musicians. A native of Bloomington, Illinois, Andrew is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Organ Performance and Literature at the Eastman School of Music, where he studies with David Higgs and serves as a teaching assistant in music theory and aural skills.

He previously earned both a Master of Music degree and a Graduate Performance Diploma from the Peabody Conservatory, studying with Daniel Aune and serving as a graduate assistant in ear training. He completed his Bachelor of Music degree, summa cum laude, at Illinois Wesleyan University, where he studied organ with Susan Klotzbach and voice and choral conducting with J. Scott Ferguson.

Andrew currently serves as Assistant Organist at Christ Church (Episcopal) in Rochester, New York. His previous church appointments include Mount Calvary Catholic Church in Baltimore, Maryland, and Wesley United Methodist Church in Bloomington, Illinois.

With a deep commitment to musical excellence and mentorship, Andrew looks forward to a future of teaching and service through music.
