Bailey Banks

Bailey Banks, originally from Ottawa, Illinois, recently finished her undergraduate career at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education, with certificates in Jazz Studies and Composition.

During her collegiate career, she performed in various vocal ensembles, including the Millikin University Choir, where she served as section leader, and Millikin’s flagship vocal jazz ensemble, OneVoice.

Bailey founded and music directed a new ensemble on Millikin’s campus called TUBE!, a boomwhacker group. By playing popular music on elementary music instruments, this ensemble helped make music-making an accessible option for people of all experience levels.

She has recently served as the music director of Dissonance A Capella, MU’s mixed pop acapella ensemble. In and out of the classroom, Bailey has also taught Music Theory, Guitar, and Piano to students of various skill levels. Before finishing her degree, she also had the pleasure of music directing American Psycho; The Musical at Pipe Dreams Studio Theatre in Decatur, Illinois.

As a Jr. Faculty member, Bailey is excited to join the Poco a Poco team this year and help create new educational opportunities with the Young Artists this season!
