Calling all local singers! Consider joining our Community Choir this 2019 festival season, under the direction of Streator native Dr. Shelbie Wahl Fouts. We aim to host a 75-member strong choir, comprising of Young Artists, faculty, and musicians from across central Illinois.

Selections will include: “Be Like the Bird” (music by Abbie Betinis, words by Victor Hugo), “Gloria” (from Franz Schubert’s Mass No. 2 in G Major), “Tribute to the Armed Forces” (arranged by Lloyd Larson), “Where There is Light in the Soul” (by Elizabeth Alexander, setting of a Chinese proverb), “Alexander’s Ragtime Band” (by Irving Berlin, arranged by Teena Chinn), and “It’s a Grand Night for Singing” (from State Fair by Rodgers and Hammerstein).

Additional rehearsals will include: Monday, June 10th at 7:00-8:30 PM and Saturday, June 15th 1:30-2:30 PM with a Veggie and Fruit reception for participants before the 3:00 PM concert.

We ask for a $10 participation fee to cover the cost of providing music and binders for each singer.
